Disha Patani is an Indian actress and model who works mainly in Hindi films. She made her Bollywood debut with the Telugu film Loafer (2015), opposite Varun Tej. After making her Bollywood debut in the sports biopic M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), she starred in the Chinese action comedy Kung Fu Yoga (2017), one of the highest-grossing Chinese films of all time. She has appeared in the commercially successful Hindi action films Baaghi 2 (2018) and Bharat (2019), playing the lead male character's romantic interest in Kalki 2898 AD
Patni's parents are from Uttarakhand. Disha has lived in Bareilly since her birth. She was educated in Bareilly. Her mother was in the medical department and her father was in the police.
Patni debuted in 2015 with a Telugu film Loafer opposite Varun Tej.She played the role of Mouni, who runs away from home to escape a forced marriage.Directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by C Kalyan under CK Entertainment, the film was made on a budget of ₹200 million and performed poorly at the box office with a lifetime collection of ₹106 million. In the following year, Disha appeared in a music video, Befikra alongside Tiger Shroff, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series and composed by Meet Bros. Written and directed by Meet Bros, the song features vocals by singer Aditi Singh Sharma.
Patani got her commercial break with Neeraj Pandey's M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biographical sports film based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Kiara Advani.She played the role of Priyanka Jha, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's girlfriend who dies in a car accident. Directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Fox Star Studios, the film was released on 30 September 2016 and was a massive hit, collecting ₹2.16 billion, becoming the highest-grossing film for both Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha.Her performance was widely acknowledged. In her review, Renuka Vyavahare of The Times of India reviewed, "Disha's performance in the film deserves a special mention as her performance makes your heart skip a beat."Furthermore, she also starred in Jackie Chan's Kung Fu Yoga alongside Sonu Sood.
Patni then starred opposite Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 2, the sequel to the 2016 hit Baaghi which also starred Tiger Shroff alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Ahmed Khan, the film was released worldwide on 30 March 2018 and grossed approximately ₹243 crore.
Recently it has been seen that many celebrities are creating their own YouTube channel and now Disha Patani has also started her YouTube channel.
