Zarine Khan is an Indian actress and model who works in Hindi films. She started her acting career in 2010 with the film Veer opposite Salman Khan. Khan is known for her resemblance to Katrina Kaif. Zarine Khan has been seen in a bold look since Hate Story 3. Zarine Khan will soon be seen in Aksar 2, the sequel of the 2006 movie Aksar starring Emraan Hashmi and Udita Goswami Actress Zarine Khan has appeared in Vikram Bhatt's horror film 1921 and Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele.
Early life
Zareen Khan was born in Mumbai on 14 May 1987 to a Muslim Pashtun also called Pathan or Afghan family. She speaks Hindi, Urdu, English and Marathi, and some Pashto. She completed her intermediate at Rizvi College of Science, Mumbai.
Career
Zarine Khan wanted to become a doctor but got involved in acting. Her acting career began after visiting the sets of Yuvraaj at Subhash Ghai's film school Whistling Woods. Salman Khan spotted her and decided to cast her for his friend Anil Sharma's Veer (film). After a screen test, Khan was given the lead role of Rajkumari Yashodhara. She gained eight kilograms to look more convincing as a 19th-century princess. The film revolves around the 1825 Pindari Movement of Rajasthan, when India was ruled by the British. Veer (film) did not perform well at the box office; however, her performance received mixed reviews from both critics and the public. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama observed that 'Zareen' resembles Katrina Kaif. Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India concluded that "Zareen is unexciting". Rediff.com mentions that "Zareen is average". Zarine Khan was nominated for the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.
In 2011, Zarine Khan did the item number "Character Dheela" with Salman Khan in Anees Bazmee's Ready.
In 2015, Khan appeared in the erotic thriller film Hate Story 3. The film was a commercial success and brought recognition to Zarine Khan. She then appeared in a music video "Pyar Manga Hai" with Ali Fazal. The song was sung by Armaan Malik and Neeti Mohan. In 2016 she also appeared in another item song called "Mahi Ve" in the film Wajah Tum Ho.
In 2017, Khan appeared in Aksar 2. Zarine is also doing a film 'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele' with Anshuman Jha which is scheduled to release in 2021. The film is a unique love story of two lesbians
