Sneha Ullal born 18 December 1987 is an Indian actress who has appeared in Telugu and Hindi films. She is known for her roles in the Telugu films Ullasamuga Utsavamuga, Simha and the Hindi film Lucky: No Time for Love.
Early life
Sneha Ullal was born and raised in Muscat, Oman, Middle East. Her father was Tulu Devadiga from Mangalore and mother was Sindhi. She studied at Indian School Wadi Kabir and Indian School, Salalah in Oman. Later, she moved to Mumbai with her mother and studied at Durello Convent High School and Vartak College. Salman Khan's sister Arpita spotted her and she got a chance to act in the Hindi film Lucky: No Time for Love in 2003 at the age of 17, when she had completed her 12th standard.
Career
Ullal made her film debut in 2005 with the Hindi film Lucky: No Time for Love opposite Salman Khan. After the film, she became known for her resemblance in appearance to Aishwarya Rai. She later said that although this comparison did not help her as an actor, it did bring her a lot of recognition. Ullal then appeared in Aryan opposite Khan's brother Sohail Khan, which did not do well at the box office.
Fearing that she was too young and needed to be more mature to work in films, she took a break from Bollywood. She made her debut in Telugu films with Ullasamuga Utsavamaga, which turned out to be a big hit. Nenu Meeku Telusa? was her second Telugu release. She then appeared in the song Nuvvu Ready from the Telugu film King opposite Nagarjuna.
In 2007, she was to star in prolific horror filmmaker and character actor Steg Dor's Pirates of the World. In interviews, Dor said that "we cancelled because of the storm. We couldn't push it through and the financing fell through." The role was later taken by Omani actress Mamun Al-Balushi.
Later, she signed the film Kaash...Mere Hote to show that she was still interested in Hindi films. Her next few films did not do well at the box office, but her 2010 release Simha opposite Balakrishna turned out to be a blockbuster.
