Lalisa Manolab Thai: ลลิษา มโนบาล; born Pranpriya Manolab, 27 March 1997, better known as Lisa (Thai: ลิซ่า; Korean: 리사), is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to prominence as a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, which debuted in August 2016 under YG Entertainment and became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.
In September 2021, Lisa released her debut solo album, Lalisa, which made her the first female artist to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week in South Korea. The music video for its lead single is the most-viewed music video by a solo artist in the first 24 hours on YouTube, while the album's viral second single, "Money," became the first song by a K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify; both songs charted in the top ten of the Billboard Global 200. In 2024, Lisa established her own management company, Lloyd, signed with RCA Records, and achieved her first number-one single on Billboard Global Exclusive in the US with "Rockstar," the lead single from her debut studio album, Alter Ego (2025).
In addition to music, Lisa made her acting debut in the HBO television series The White Lotus in 2025. Her awards include nine Guinness World Records, a Gaon Chart Music Award, an Mnet Asian Music Award, three MTV Europe Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards; she became the first K-pop solo artist to win at the latter two award ceremonies. Lisa was honored as a Cultural Ambassador Leader by the Thai Ministry of Culture and acknowledged by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for her contributions to spreading Thai culture globally. She is the most followed K-pop artist on Instagram and has been recognized for her role in fashion as a global ambassador for Celine, Bulgari, and Louis Vuitton.
Lisa was born Pranpriya Manobala on March 27, 1997, in Buriram Province, Thailand, and later legally changed her name to Lalisa, meaning "praised one", on the advice of an astrologer for prosperity.An only child, she was raised by her Thai mother, Chithip Bruschweiler, and her Swiss stepfather, chef Marco Bruschweiler. Lisa completed her secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II She is multilingual; in addition to her native Thai language, she speaks fluent Korean and English, as well as basic Japanese and Chinese.
After enrolling in dance classes at the age of four, she began regularly participating in competitions, including To Be Number One, and joined the eleven-member dance group We Za Cool with BamBam of Got7. In September 2009, the group entered the LG Entertainment Million Dream Sanan World competition, broadcast on Channel 9, and won the Special Team Award. Lisa also participated as a school representative in the singing competition Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand, organized by the Moral Promotion Center, in early 2009 and was the runner-up.
In January 2019, Lisa became the muse of Hedi Slimane, the artistic, creative, and image director of the French luxury fashion brand Celine. Following her appearance in the brand's Essentials campaign, photographed by Slimane in June 2020, she was named global ambassador in September 2020.
In July 2020, Lisa was officially appointed a brand ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari, and appeared in digital campaigns for its Serpenti and Bazzero One collections Later that year, in November, clothing brand Penshoppe introduced her as its newest ambassador.
On February 16, 2021, Lisa joined the guest jury of the French fashion award ANDAM. On November 13, she announced her makeup collection with American beauty brand MAC Cosmetics, titled MAC XL. The line includes powder blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow palette, and face powder
In January 2023, Lisa collaborated with Bulgari to create a limited edition watch for the "Bulgari Bulgari" collection.
In July 2024, Lisa became a house ambassador for Louis Vuitton.
Through YG Entertainment, Lisa released the limited-edition book 0327, based entirely on her own photographs taken with a film camera. The first volume was released on her birthday in 2020, and the second volume was released on her birthday the following year. The third and fourth volumes were released in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
