Gemma Louise Atkinson born 16 November 1984 is an English radio presenter and former actress and glamour model. She played Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks (2001–2005, 2022) and three spin-off series, Hollyoaks: After Hours (2004), Hollyoaks: Let Loose (2005) and Hollyoaks: In the City (2006), Tamzin Belle in Casualty (2011–2012, 2014) and Carly Hope in Emmerdale (2015–2017). She currently presents the drive time slot on the Hits Radio network. In November 2021, it was announced that Atkinson was set to reprise her role as Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks.
Atkinson was born in Bury, Greater Manchester.His father David was Scottish and from Dumfries.He took his GCSEs at Castlebrook High School, Bury.
Atkinson is engaged to Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Gorka Marquez. On 1 February 2019, they announced on Instagram that they were expecting a child.Atkinson gave birth to a baby girl on 4 July 2019.On 21 January 2023, Atkinson announced on Instagram that she was pregnant with her second child.On 19 July 2023, Atkinson announced that she had given birth to her second child, a boy.
In early 2006, Atkinson underwent breast augmentation surgery, which reduced her bra size to 34E.She said in an interview with Maxim magazine that she had lost weight due to a fitness diet and that her breasts had decreased in size and that surgery had restored their original shape and size.
Since beginning her parallel career as a glamour model, Atkinson has appeared in provocative photoshoots wearing lingerie and swimwear for magazines such as Arena, FHM, Loaded, Maxim, Zoo and Nuts. In October 2006, she appeared in three of these publications in the same month and became one of the best-known celebrity glamour models in the UK. She has also released calendars every year since 2006, of which the 2008 and 2009 calendars were shot in Thailand.
Since 2006, she has appeared on FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in 2006, peaking at number 32. Following her appearance on the cover of FHM, she rose to number 23 in 2007,rising again to number 18 in 2008 and falling to number 81 in 2009. She was ranked 46th in AskMen.com's 99 Sexiest Women of 2008.
