Sabrina AnnaLynne Carpenter born May 11, 1999 is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She first gained fame starring in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014–2017). She signed with Disney-owned Hollywood Records and released her debut single, "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying", in 2014, followed by the studio albums Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019).

Carpenter moved to Island Records in 2021 and released her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send (2022), which was supported by the singles "Nonsense" and "Feather". Her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet (2024), topped the US Billboard 200, produced the US Billboard Hot 100 top three singles "Espresso", "Please Please Please" and "Taste", and won two Grammy Awards. Her upcoming seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend (2025), is preceded by the US number-one single "Manchild".

Carpenter has appeared in films such as Adventures in Babysitting (2016), The Hate U Give (2018), The Short History of the Long Road (2019), Clouds (2020) and Emergency (2022). She has also appeared in the Netflix films Tall Girl (2019), Tall Girl 2 (2022) and Work It (2020), the latter of which she served as executive producer. On Broadway, she played Cady Heron in the musical Mean Girls (2020).

Early life

Sabrina Annalyn Carpenter was born on May 11, 1999 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania to David and Elizabeth Carpenter and raised in East Greenville.  She has three older sisters and was homeschooled. All four are nieces of actress Nancy Cartwright as their father is Cartwright's half-brother.  Carpenter began studying voice at the age of 6.At around age 10, she began posting videos of herself on YouTube singing songs by Christina Aguilera and Adele. Her father built her a recording studio to encourage her passion for music.

Personal life

Carpenter was previously in a relationship with actor Bradley Steven Perry from 2014 to 2015.She briefly dated singer Shawn Mendes in 2023.

Carpenter began a relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan in December 2023. In December 2024, it was reported that the couple's relationship had ended. 

She purchased a $4.4 million home in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2023, and also purchased a $1.7 million home in the Northridge neighborhood, which she purchased in 2018. She has rented an apartment in the Financial District area of New York City since writing Emails I Can't Send.
