Urvashi Rautela Born 25 February 1994 is an Indian actress, model and beauty pageant winner who predominantly works in Hindi films. She rose to fame after winning the title of Miss Diva-Miss Universe India 2015 and representing India at Miss Universe 2015. She began her modeling career at the age of 15 and previously won the title of Miss Teen India 2009.
Rautela made her acting debut in 2013 with Singh Saab the Great (2013) and has since appeared in some notable films such as Sanam Re (2016), Great Grand Masti (2016), Hate Story 4 (2018) and Pagalpanti (2019).
She made her debut in the Kannada film industry in 2014 with Mr. Airavat. Her entry into Tamil cinema took place in 2022 with The Legend.
Rautela was born on 25 February 1994 in Haridwar to Meera Rautela and Manwar Singh Rautela, in a Garhwali Rajput family. Her hometown is Kotdwar.
Rautela was Educated at St. Joseph Convent School in Kotdwar. She is an alumnus of Gargi College, Delhi.
Rautela made her Hindi film debut with the film Singh Saab the Great, where she played the lead role opposite Sunny Deol. Following the film's release, Urvashi appeared in Yo Yo Honey Singh's international video album Love Dose, which was released in October 2014.
Soon after, she ventured into Kannada cinema and made her debut with the film Mr. Airavat Although the film received negative reviews from critics, Urvashi's dance sequence was praised. Sunayana Suresh, writing for The Times of India, said, "Urvashi is expressive and leaves a mark in the few scenes and songs she appears in, especially with her dancing.
Later, she appeared in two other Hindi films, Sanam Re and Great Grand Masti, both of which did average box office collections. She also appeared in two music videos in 2016. Lal Dupatta with Mika Singh and Anupama Raaga and Gal Ban Gayi with Vidyut Jammwal.
In 2017, Rautela featured in a special dance sequence Haseeno Ka Deewana in the film Kaabil. Her performance received praise from Amitabh Bachchan. Also, she made a special appearance in a Bangladeshi film Porobashini.
Rautela has completed shooting for the film Intruder, which is a remake of the Tamil film Thiruttu Payale 2. She is also set to make her lead debut in Telugu films with Black Rose.
Rautela is set to make her Hollywood debut with the Netflix film Renata Fonte alongside Michele Morrone. It will be directed by Barbara Bialowas and produced by Netflix and Tomasz Mandes. In March 2024, she posted a poster of the upcoming JNU: Jahangir National University
