Emilia Isabel Euphemia Rose Clarke born 23 October 1986 is an English actress. She first appeared as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones series and received three Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2013, 2015, and 2016. In 2017, Clarke became one of the highest-paid actresses on television and earns US$1.1 million per episode of Game of Thrones. In 2015, she was nominated for Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive Award.She starred in the 2015 film Terminator Genesis as Sarah Connor and in the film Before You as Louisa Clarke.

Clarke was born in London and grew up in Berkshire.Her father is a theatre sound engineer. Clarke became interested in acting at the age of 3 after seeing her father perform the musical Show Boat. She was educated at Rye St Antony's School and St Edward's School, Oxford (graduating in 2005). She attended the Drama Centre London and graduated in 2009.

Career 

Early work

Clarke's early work includes two plays at St Edward's, ten plays at the Drama Centre London, a 2009 production of Sense of Angels, and two commercials for the Samaritans in 2009. The University of London short film was one of her first roles.

2010–present: Game of Thrones

In 2010, Clarke was cast as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones, based on the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin.

The show debuted in April 2011 to positive reviews and was followed shortly by a second season. She has appeared in and starred in all six seasons of the show, including the seventh. She has received awards for her role. In 2014, she was voted the most desirable woman in the world by Conan readers. She will star as Nurse Verena, the voice of The Stone, which will be released in a limited release, video on demand, and digital HD.In January 2017, Clarke was cast in the lead role in the film adaptation of The Beauty Inside.
