Monica Anna Maria Bellucci born 30 September 1964 is an Italian actress and fashion model.
The daughter of painter Maria Gustinelli and Luigi Bellucci, a trucking company owner, Monica Bellucci was born in Città di Castello, Umbria, Italy.Bellucci began modeling at the age of 16, while she was studying at the Liceo Classico. Initially pursuing a career as a lawyer, Bellucci began modeling to pay for her tuition at the University of Perugia,but the lifestyle led her away from studying law. She speaks Italian, French, and English fluently, and Spanish semi-fluently, and in addition to acting in all of these languages, she also performed in Aramaic for her role as Mary Magdalene in The Passion of the Christ.
Bellucci is married to fellow actor Vincent Cassel, with whom she has appeared in several films, and has a daughter named Deva (born September 12, 2004). In 2004, while she was pregnant, Bellucci posed nude for the Italian magazine Vanity Fair to protest Italian laws that prohibit the use of donated sperm.
In 1988, Bellucci moved to Milan, one of Europe's fashion centers, where she signed with Elite Model Management. Bellucci's film career began in the early 1990s. In 1992, she made her screen debut in a major English-language film as one of Dracula's brides in Bram Stoker's Dracula. She became popular and recognized by audiences worldwide after her roles in Malena (2000), Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) and Irreversible (2002), although she is perhaps best known for her roles as Parsephone in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003), after which she played Mary Magdalene in The Passion of the Christ (2004).

September 2007 saw the release of Shoot 'Em Up, in which she played a prostitute, alongside Clive Owen. She dubbed her own voice for the film's French and Italian releases.
She filmed Le deuxième souffle (2006) with Daniel Auteil, Michel Blanc and Eric Cantona.
Bellucci also provided the voice for Calina in the video game Princess of Persia: Warrior Within and the French voice of Capi for the French version of the 2005 animated film Robots.
