Shama Sikandar Gasawat was born on 4 August 1981 in Makrana city of Rajasthan. Shama is an Indian actress and film producer. Shama has worked in many films, music videos and television shows in English language, Hindi languages as well as North Indian and South Indian languages. Apart from acting, Sikandar serves as the Managing Director of Chocolate Box Films India Pvt Ltd Mumbai India based film production company.In 2003–05, Shama played a major role in the TV series Yeh Meri Life Hai. She became very popular due to her excellent performance in this. Shama has worked in many TV serials and hosted in TV program and Shama is also known as a reality show contestant. On the big screen, Shama acted in a few Bollywood films.

Having moved frequently, Sikandar attended around 9 schools for his early life in Makrana and different parts of Greater Mumbai including Malad, Mumbra, Thane and Andheri. After passing her secondary education examination following her completion of class 10th, Shama Sikander joined the Roshan Taneja School of Acting in Mumbai in 1995, graduating in acting a year later.
Shama made her big screen debut with a small role in the film Prem Agan (1998) and the film Mann (1999) opposite Aamir Khan, followed by a supporting role in the film Ansh – The Deadly Part (2002). . Shama first gained significant recognition on television as the lead character 'Pooja Mehta' in the popular Sony TV serial Yeh Meri Life Hai (2003–2005). Her performance in this serial earned Shama several nominations and awards and won the 12th Annual Sher's Gold Awards' Critics' Choice "Best Actress" (2005), Sony TV's "Best Face" (2005), Indian Television Academy Awards' Gr 8! Face of the Year” (2004), and “Best Debut” (2004).
Shama enjoyed anchoring shows like Popcorn News in 2007 and Get Set Go in 2008. In 2008, Shama Sikander returned to the big screen by starring in the film Dhoom Dhadaka in the lead role. She later appeared in the supernatural thriller TV series Seven (2010–2011) produced by Bollywood's Yash Raj Films as the lead character named 'Shanaya'. played the role of Shama then played the role of 'Bhayankar Pari', a main character in the children's show Baal Veer (2012–2014).
